Ethnic minority students

The Ministry of Education and Training was assigned to collaborate with the relevant agencies and ADB in completing the documents, assessing and approving the Project under the current stipulations; and collaborating with the State Bank of Việt Nam to sign an agreement with ADB.

The US$ 1.5 million Project aims to build 103 rooms for 824 students in disadvantaged provinces, including Lai Châu, Đắk Nông and Hà Giang. The Project also helps provide sanitary equipment, utensils and other appliances to create a healthy environment for students.

Besides, the Project will develop and pilot a program to grant scholarships to over 220 ethnic minority students from 22 teachers training colleges. Under the Project, these colleges will be financed to improve their training programs to encourage ethnic minority teachers to teach in the local languages.
