Japan speeds up infrastructure projects in Việt Nam
VGP - Việt Nam and Japan plan to boost bilateral ties in the field of infrastructure by speeding up major projects, namely Hà Nội-Vinh Highway, Hồ Chí Minh City-Nha Trang Highways, T2 Nội Bài International Airport, and Hồ Chí Minh City’s Water Waste System.

and Tourism Maehara made the statement today when receiving Vietnamese Deputy
PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân who is currently on his official visit to

Minister Maehara affirmed that Việt Nam is Japan’s top
strategic partner in Asia and the Japanese Government has always given highest
ODA to the country, especially in 2009 despites the global economic downturn.
He also said
For his part, Deputy PM Nhân took the occasion to express
sincere thanks to the Japanese Government while highlighting the importance of
Japanese ODA in helping Việt Nam construct a modern and smart nationwide transportation
system. These projects are parts of the country’s socio-economic development strategies,
he continued, describing them the symbol of a traditional Việt Nam–Japan
relationship.

He proudly informed of the inauguration of Cần Thơ Bridge,
which was built with ODA provided by Japan.
