Apart from art and entertainment performances, the festival will feature investment and trade events.

Takebe Tsutomu, a special advisor to the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance and head of the organizing committee said the event will mark the start of a series of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Viet Nam-Japan diplomatic ties.

A number of cultural, sport and traditional art exchange programmes will be held as well as some events to promote the bilateral trade cooperation, he added.

He expressed thanks to the city’s administration for its support for the organisation of the two countries' festival over the years.

Takabe said the upcoming festival is expected to welcome around 300,000 visitors, higher than the 2017 figure of 220,000.
