The self-refrigerated shipping boxes worth about VND 20 billion (nearly US$ 1 million), is procured through UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Fund), will be delivered this September.

The cold boxes will help store vaccines at a temperature range of 2˚C to 8˚C.

Earlier, on July 10, the Ministry of Health launched the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign, the largest-ever immunization drive in Viet Nam. The campaign will run from July 2021 to April 2022, targeting people aged 18 and above with the ultimate goal of protecting people’s health and lives and bring life back to normal early.

As many as 174 refrigerators for storage of vaccines, funded by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) and supplied by UNICEF, arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on June 8.

In the near future, UNICEF will provide Viet Nam with a number of vaccine storage equipment, including over 2,200 fridges, cold storage trucks, and tens of millions of syringes and safety boxes./.
