It will be the ever biggest business delegation of Italy arriving in Việt Nam as well as among the largest Italian enterprise mission to other countries.

On this occasion, two business forums will be held in Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh City on November 5 and 7 respectively, forging the playground where Vietnamese enterprises interested in the Italian market can contact Italian leading counterparts and seek for opportunities to establish  partnership.

In addition, an expo displaying made-in-Italy products and commodities will be kicked off in Hồ Chí Minh City in mid-January 2009.

Due to the lack of information, the commercial and investment relations between Việt Nam and Italy remain incommensurate to their available potentialities. Recently, Italian businessmen have shown their attention to Việt Nam’s market, entitling it one of the most attractive investment gateways in Asia, after China and India.

In recent years, apart from fostered political ties, bilateral trade and economic exchanges between Việt Nam and Italy have been improved. In 2007, the two-way trade turnover reached US $1.7 billion. Trade growth rate stands at 20-32% yearly.

So far, Italy ranks the 33rd among 81 countries and territories doing investment in Việt Nam. By August 2008, only 28 projects, worth around US $115 million, came from Italy to Việt Nam.
