Italy-ASEAN business forum opens in HN

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc called upon Italian enterprises to choose Viet Nam when looking to the East.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Italian counterpart Giuseppe Conte co-chaired the Italy-ASEAN business forum on June 6 in Ha Noi.

The event drew the attendance of Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung and over 300 enterprises from Italy and ASEAN and more than 150 Vietnamese ones. 

PM Phuc welcomed representatives of the Italian enterprises who had travelled half of the Earth to attend the forum. 

He underlined the special forum which attracted the two PMs, expressing his hope that Italian enterprises choose Viet Nam when eying on the East, saying Viet  Nam has a population of over 95 million  people with a dynamic economy, a member of the ASEAN community with nearly US$ 3,000 GDP scale. 

The host leader called on Italian enterprises to shake hands with Vietnamese partners and enjoy win-win success. 

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (ICHAM) Michele D’Ercole – the co-organizer said that the forum is of great significance as it attracted leading enterprises from Italy and the Southeast Asian region. 

Italian Former PM Enrico Letta who is the President of the ASEAN-Italy Association said that ASEAN is the fifth largest economy in the world, playing an important geo-economic significance of the Italian Government in general and the Italian business community in particular. Italy always attaches importance to the strategic ties between Viet Nam and Italy and the multilateral ties between Italy and ASEAN of which Viet Nam serves as the strategic gateway for Italian enterprises in the region. Italy and Viet Nam share a large number of market similarities. Hence, the President was convinced that these similarities would facilitate respective businesses../.
