The meeting was held on the occasion of the Vietnamese PM's working visit to Cambodia to attend the third Mekong River Commission (MRC) Summit in Siem Reap from April 4-5.

PM Phuc applauded Cambodia’s organization of the two large events including the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting in January and the third MRC Summit, saying that has raised the role and status of the nation in the region.

The two PMs hailed the developments in the two nations’ relations over the recent years, expressing determination to deepening and upgrading the comprehensive cooperation to a higher level, affirming that Viet Nam’s consistent policy is to attach importance to consolidating the neighborly friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia.

They highly praised the two countries’ signing of a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement and the minutes of the meeting of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Land Border Demarcation and Marker Planting on the sidelines of the sixth Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS-6) and the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Summit (CLV-10) which took place in Ha Noi last week.

They consented to maintain high-level visits and coordinate in organizing the 16th meeting of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Economic, Cultural and Scientific-Technological Cooperation in Ha Noi from May 16-18.
