Int’l fireworks competition to rouse central city late next month
VGP – Fireworks teams from the US, Japan, France, Portugal and Việt Nam will join an annual international fireworks competition in the central port city of Đà Nẵng in the evenings of March 27 and 28.
The local authority estimates that around 100,000 tourists would come to contemplate the event, 1.5 times higher than the number of the previous year’s show.
The city plans to build stands along the Hàn River banks with 25,000 seats, of which 15,000 will be equipped with supplementary audio-light system, to serve pilgrims and local residents, said Deputy Chairman of the Đà Nẵng People’s Committee Võ Duy Khương.
Series of festivities will also be organized on the occasion to welcome the city’s 35th birthday.
The competition is among one of the Government-approved seven national key festivals toward the celebration of the Millennium of Thăng Long-Hà Nội.
Last year, some 60,000 turns of tourists appreciated the fireworks competition.
