Int’l center to be built for interdisciplinary scientific meetings

VGP- A 100,000-square-meter International Center for Interdisciplinary Scientific Meetings, invested with US$ 6 million, will be built in Quy Nhơn City of the Central Province of Bình Định.

Bình Định’s People’s Committee gave Recontres Du  Blois the license to establish the Center where young researchers and experienced scientists can meet and share their knowledge. The center is scheduled to come into operate in 2012.

The facility is expected to sharpen professional knowledge of lecterers from universities in Bình Định in particular and Central Việt Nam in general. It also provides favorable conditions for regional scientists to access and exchange their knowledge as well as experiece with their colleagues from developed countries. 

Rencontres De Blois was set up in 1996 in France by Professor Trần Thanh Vân, an overseas Vietnamese physicist. This organization has held a number of international meetings at home and abroad on such themes as particle physics, astrophysics, biotechnology and applied researches.  Rencontres Du Blois has cooperated with international scientific organizations and Việt Nam’s Institue of Physics to arrange courses and grant scholarships for researchers in Việt Nam and other countries.
