Int’l arrivals increase in first nine months

VGP – It is estimated that that some 460,000 international tourists arrived in Viet Nam in September, an increase of nearly 62% against the same period of 2011, according to the National Administration of Tourism.

In the first nine months of 2012, Viet Nam welcomed over 4.85 million turns of foreigners, up 13% on year.

Noticeably, tourists from the Republic of Korea saw the highest increase with 38.2%, followed by Malaysia, Japan, Thai Lan, Taiwan (China) and France with 25.4%, 24.5%, 23.4%, 19.4%, and 8.1%, respectively. 

Ho Chi Minh City was the most attractive destination with 2.72 millions tourists, up 12.3% against the same period of 2011, and accounting for 56% of the country’s total tourists.

Viet Nam targets to welcome 6.4 million international arrivals with an estimated revenue of VND 150 trillion.
