Co-organised by the Viet Nam Stage Artists Association and the Performing Art Bureau, under Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism.

Seven troupes from Hungary, Israel, India, the Republic of Korea, China, Singapore, and Greece have so far registered to perform seven plays at the show. Meanwhile, 14 troupes from host Viet Nam will participate, each with one play.

In addition to the shows by domestic performers, plays by artists from foreign countries have also been selected to take part in the festival.

According to People’s Artist Chairman of the Viet Nam Stage Artists Association Le Tien Tho, the event will provide an opportunity for both domestic and international talent to exchange experience whilst also providing several culturally rich shows for audiences,.

Aside from official performances as part of the festival, workshops on plays and experimental theatre from Vietnam and abroad will be planned throughout the event.

At the third International Experimental Theatre Festival in Viet Nam in 2016, 16 plays were staged by eight troupes from China, the Philippines, Japan, Greece, Germany, Panama, France, and Viet Nam. Three plays from Viet Nam, Japan and China won the gold medals.
