According to the latest report of the Department, lower costs of materials and goods in the global markets and the Government’s decision to stabilize prices of essential commodities have resulted in the forecast lower inflation.

The report also pointed out key factors slightly pushing the CPI up. When the recovery of the world economy continues, prices of fuels and input materials may increase, making costs of imported commodities higher. In addition, the spread of the blue-ear disease may lead to higher demand for alternative food.

The Price Management Department suggested relevant ministries and localities conduct synchronous measures to stabilize prices until the end of 2010. Accordingly, prices of electricity and coal will be kept stable while those of petroleum products will be put under strict management./.
