Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang presented his letter of credentials  to Indonesian President Joko Widodo on August 13 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Ambassador reported to the President on the development of the strategic partnership set up in 2013 and on the two countries’ implementation of the action program for 2014-2018, adding that Vietnamese leaders and people want to further deepen these ties.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo’s state visit to Viet Nam in September is expected to create a new momentum for the bilateral strategic partnership, he affirmed.

The Vietnamese Government has always created favorable conditions for long-term and effective operations of foreign investors, including those from Indonesia, asserted Mr. Quang.

He proposed that the President and the Indonesian Government continue to encourage Indonesian firms to expand business and partnerships in Viet Nam, thus increasing bilateral trade to fulfill demand and reach its full potential.

On the occasion, the ambassador wished Indonesia a successful organization of the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering (ALG), and the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group next October. He told his host that Viet Nam will be sending a delegation to the events.

President Widodo expected the two nations will strengthen their mutual support concerning regional and international issues, thereby helping to maintain peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world at large.

The President congratulated Ambassador Quang on his taking office during a critical time of bilateral relations, expressing his hope that the diplomat will make worthy contributions to the Viet Nam-Indonesia strategic partnership with practical and effective outcomes.
