Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue made that statement at a press conference on the debut of the indicator set on October 13 in Ha Noi.

The Party and State is concerned about the development of businesses and businessmen in Viet Nam, asserted Mr. Hue, adding that the Government is heading towards having one million enterprises by 2020.

The indicator set and other current indicators will help the Government and localities comprehend the development of enterprises across the nation and at localities.

It evaluates the level of development of enterprises as well as reflects the situations of enterprises in terms of revenue, expenditures, profit, labor and contributions to the State budget, said Mr. Hue.

He asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the General Statistics Office to continue joining hand with other ministries, agencies and localities to complete the current indicator sets and improve the quality of information, which must ensure the accuracy at the highest level.

He urged to soon edit and publish the white book on the status of Viet Nam’s enterprises in 2017 in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The Deputy PM suggested localities assess the status of local enterprises and continue reforming and improving the competitiveness index there.

He requested ministries, agencies and localities to continue accelerating administrative procedure reform and reform business conditions in a more practical and effective manner.

The indicator sets will be announced at Viet Nam Business Day (October 13) annually.
