Addressing the signing ceremony, ISCUF Secretary General Bijay Kumar Padhihari said the MoU will not only deepen the friendship and mutual understanding between the Indian and Vietnamese people, but also open a new direction for settling international issues of mutual concern.

VUFO Vice President and Secretary General Don Tuan Phong highlighted the traditional relations between Viet Nam and India, saying that the two nations have always supported and assisted each other in their past struggles for national liberation as well as current processes of national construction.

The MoU is a foundation for the two sides to deploy specific activities in a bid to further promote mutual understanding, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the Vietnamese and Indian people, contributing to the realisation of agreements reached between senior leaders, he noted.

He promised that the VUFO and the Viet Nam-India Friendship Association will create favourabe conditions and fully implement the MoU.

Under the document, the two sides will recommend the two Governments to commend organisations and individuals for their contributions to enhancing exchange, friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ people.

Both sides will also work together to organise seminars, forums, fairs, and visits of business delegations; provide the two sides’ enterprises with information about each other’s business climate; introduce attractive tourism sites of the two nations; and suggest relevant authorities of both sides consider establishing bonds among their localities.

In addition, the document is hoped to furtherpromote cooperation between Viet Nam and India in politics, economy, culture, tourism, science-technology and people-to-people exchange.
