During the dialogue, U.S. and Vietnamese representatives exchanged views on securing critical infrastructure and resources; strategic energy supply diversification; energy tariffs and pricing; technical assistance; renewable/new energy technology; regional interconnectivity; and held a commercial session.

In addition, both sides discussed opportunities for U.S. businesses in Viet Nam’s energy sector. U.S. companies have shown a strong interest in partnering with Viet Nam on a wide array of energy initiatives.

On March 29, meetings with energy technical experts that preceded this dialogue provided an opportunity to exchange views and information about U.S. technologies and best practices for evaluating the feasibility of individual energy projects within an overall national framework.
