IIP rises 10.1% in 11 month

VGP - The General Statistics Office reported that the index of industrial production (IIP) in the first 11 months of 2018 expanded 9.7% compared with the same period last year.

Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi reported IIP rises of 7.4% and 8%.

In regards to localities, the central coastal province of Ha Tinh led the nation with IIP growth of 93.2%, in the January-November period. The result was mainly thanks to the contribution of Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Company.

Nghi Son oil refinery helped the central province of Thanh Hoa ranked second, with its IIP rising by 33.6%. 

In November alone, the IIP increased 9.6% compared to the same period last year. 

Figures show the index for the processing and manufacturing was up by 11%, followed by the electricity production and distribution, and the water supply and waste-sewage treatment sectors with 9.2% and 4.5%, respectively. 

In November alone, the mining sector regained its growth momentum by 0.2%, the GSO said. 

The IIP in the groups of private and foreign-invested enterprises respectively increased by 4.1%, and 3.4%. 

Meanwhile the State-owned sector reported a decrease of 0.9% in the month.

Localities where the IIP registered high growth were Hai Phong at 25,7%; Vinh Phuc at 14,9%; Thai Nguyen at 12,3%; Binh Duong at 9,5%; Hai Duong at 9,2%; Quang Ninh at 9,1%; Dong Nai at 8,9%; Bac Ninh at 8,4%; Can Tho at 8,1%; Da Nang at 7,2%; Quang Nam at 6,9%.
