Deputy PM made the statement at his reception for IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation Kwaku Aning in Hanoi on August 20.

He said he hopes that IAEA will support Vietnam to carry out new eight projects, proposed for the 2014-2015 phase, send energy professionals to Vietnam and provide the country with consultations regarding the building of nuclear science and technology centers.

Mr. Kwaku Aning revealed that IAEA decided to choose Vietnam as a model recipient of its help in preparing sufficient infrastructure for the building of nuclear power plants.

In the recent decade, IAEA has provided US $7.2 million for Vietnam. Its biggest project designed for the country is to upgrade the nuclear reactor control system in Da Lat city.

Besides, IAEA has also helped Vietnam in other projects in the fields of industry, agriculture, health and radiation industry.
