Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park expected to become best high-tech startup venue

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc tasked the Management Board of Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park to create every condition for investors and turn the site into the best center for high-tech startup.

The Government chief made the requirement on February 22 in Ha Noi while visiting the park.

The PM was accompanied by Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, and leaders of the Ministries of Science and Technology, Planning and Investment, Finance, Education and Training, Finance, Education, the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology, and Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee.

This was the third time the Government chief visited the High-Tech Park within over a year (since February 16, 2017). Three months after the first visit, he signed Decree 74/2017/ND-CP (Decree 74) stipulating some preferential mechanisms and policies for Hoa Lac High-Tech Park with the best incentives and advantages with a view to extricate difficulties and attract social resources.

The 3rd visit demonstrated that the Government really counts on the park as a leading venue for building a startup ecosystem in Viet Nam.

The PM called for specific mechanisms to attract high quality manpower, including researchers to the park while speeding up settlement of issues related to land and site clearance in order to grasp every development opportunity.

According to Pham Dai Duong, Vice Minister of Science and Technology and Head of the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park Management Board, the park has conducted technological transfer activities and built a bank on science and technology information with nearly 10,000 experts.

On this occasion, PM Phuc visited Hanwha Aero Engines project of Hanwha Techwin company with an investment of US$ 200 million. As scheduled, the first factory will come into operation in April, 2018 and the remaining two factories is respectively built and completed by 2022../.
