Health ministry confirms 3,639 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – There were 3,639 COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The latest patients consist of 19 imported cases and 3,620 domestic infections in 53 cities and provinces, namely Ho Chi Minh City (969), Binh Duong (517), Dong Nai (458), An Giang (232), Tay Ninh (163), Bac Lieu (156), Tien Giang (111), Kien Giang (99), Soc Trang (87), Long An (74), Tra Vinh (60), Binh Thuan (57), Gia Lai (52), Hau Giang (48), Khanh Hoa (44), Ca Mau (42), Phu Tho (37), Dak Lak (33), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (27), Can Tho (26), Thua Thien-Hue (23), Ben Tre (23), Ha Giang (22), Nam Dinh (21), Thanh Hoa (21), Binh Dinh (20), Dong Thap (19), Ha Noi (18), Vinh Long (18), Nghe An (15), Quang Tri (15), Ha Nam (14), Dak Nong (13), Ninh Thuan (12), Quang Nam (12), Binh Phuoc (10), Quang Binh (8 ), Quang Ngai (8 ), Quang Ninh (5), Bac Ninh (5), Kon Tum (4), Ninh Binh (3), Lam Dong (3), Ha Tinh (3), Vinh Phuc (3), Phu Yen (2), Lang Son (2), Hai Duong (1), Da Nang (1), Thai Binh (1), Bac Giang (1), Lai Chau (1), and Lao Cai (1).

These cases bring the national caseload to 892,579, of which 887,797 are locally transmitted cases recorded since April 27, 2021.

The same day, the ministry reported 1,323 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 807,301, accounting for more than 90 percent of the total infections.

The ministry also announced 65 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (40), Binh Duong (11), Dong Nai (7), Tay Ninh (3), Bac Lieu (2), An Giang (1), and Tien Giang (1), raising country’s death toll to 21,738.

The nation has administered 74,050,037 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 1,120,951 doses from Sunday./.
