Speaking at the Committee's meeting on Sunday, Dam said that he had directed the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Health, the Viet Nam Social Security, network providers to prepare technical solutions for online health declaration.

Since March 7, all incoming travellers to Viet Nam shall be requested to fill in health declaration form in a bid to prevent spread of the virus to the Southeast Asian nation.

Deputy PM Dam said Viet Nam had anticipated the scenario of having more infection cases but early detection is "extremely important".

He called for more measures to encourage Vietnamese people not to travel to foreign countries. If they have to go abroad, they should be well equiped with knowledge to make themselves safe.

Of the 30 COVID-19 infection cases confirmed so far in Viet Nam, 16 had been successfully treated and discharged from hospitals./.
