Health Minister urges establishment of three field hospitals in Hai Duong

The official made the request at a virtual meeting with health departments of and a number of hospitals in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces, the two latest COVID-19 outbreaks in the country, on January 28.

Accordingly, the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases is tasked with establishing the first field hospital at the Chi Linh Medical Center.

The Bach Mai Hospital is in charge of opening the second hospital within the Hai Duong Medical Technical University.

Meanwhile, the third hospital will be placed at the Hai Duong sports stadium.

The minister Long also requested that all passengers traveling from Quang Ninh’s Van Don International Airport and Hai Duong’s Chi Linh city to other localities since January 15 must contact competent medical agencies to perform COVID-19 tests and conduct self-quarantine.

Earlier, the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Transport issued Official Dispatch No. 468/SGTVT-QLVT&PT on the suspension of passenger transportation (road, waterway) in the province.

According to the dispatch, Quang Ninh started to suspend all inter-provincial and intra-provincial passenger transport activities (including vehicles to and from Quang Ninh) from 6am on January 28 until further notice.

The Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee has also issued Notice No. 21/TB-UBND on the application of COVID-19 prevention and control measures in local transport activities.

Accordingly, all passenger transport activities via fixed route bus, bus and contract cars (except for worker transport vehicles and taxis operating within the province) have been temporarily halted from 0:00 January 29.

Bus stations and roadside stations on National Highway 18 have also been closed until further notice.
