Hà Nội’s law-makers approve important policies

VGP – The 13th People’s Council of Hà Nội just finished its four-day sitting by the approval of many important policies on the city’s socio-economic development. Right at the closing session, the Council decided to spend over VND 3,000 billion on bettering nursery education.

The Municipal People’s Council issued a resolution on realizing socio-economic solutions put forth by the Government.

Through specific measures to manage financial, economic and business activities, the City strives to obtain the highest and sustainable economic growth and well prepare for its 1000th anniversary.

Hà Nội’s some socio-economic targets in the 2nd half and the whole year:

- GDP growth rate: 7.5-8% in the last six months and 5.5-6% in 2009.

Serices: up 8.5-9% in the 2nd half and 6.5-7% in the whole year;

Industry-construction: up 6-7% in the 2nd half and 5-6% in the whole year;

Agriculture: up 6-7% in the 2nd half and 0,5% in the whole year

- Export turnover: up 10% in the remaining months.

         - Poverty reduction: curtailing by 1.4%.

Earlier, the People’s Council ratified a resolution on bettering nursery education up to 2015. The City will allocate over VND 3,000 billion to improve the quality of pre-school education and reduce the percentage of malnourished children. A large part of the sum will be channeled to suburban areas.
