Topping the agenda are such issues as the realization of socio-economic tasks in the first half of the year, the tasks for the second half, and the planning scheme for the Red River Delta (the area in Hà Nội).

Mr. Phạm Quang Nghị, Party Secretary of Hà Nội stated that, in the rest months, the city should focus on some major following tasks: Realizing consistent solutions to prevent economic recession and maintain economic growth and social security; speeding up planning work, urban management, rural development and environmental quality improvement; pushing up socio-cultural development; properly dealing with burning social issues; and guaranteeing political stability, security and social safety.

The city’s Party chief also emphasized the necessity of renewing the leadership, accelerating administrative reforms, thrift practice, anti-corruption and anti-prodigality.
The Party meeting also discussed the planning scheme for the development of the Red River Delta region within Hà Nội.

The project aims at securing the city’s safety in flood season, facilitating socio-economic development and the urbanization of the river banks.

It is reported that the Project involves 42,000 households and 170,000 people.

According to Mr. Nghị, the scheme must be feasible and in favor of local people, promoting the capital city’s future development.
