Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai receives Irish Minister of Education and Skills Richard Bruton, Ha Noi, October 23, 2017

At the reception, Mr. Richard Bruton said education plays an important role in the development of a country.

Like Viet Nam, Ireland has sought to develop education to meet the requirements of industrial sectors, especially amid the current rapid growth of information technology.

The minister said he hoped the cooperation activities between the two countries will open up opportunities not only in education but also in various fields for mutual benefits.

In turn, Hai said he was glad to see growing relations between Viet Nam and Ireland. More Irish companies have invested in Viet Nam while many Vietnamese students have studied in Ireland.

The official thanked the Irish government and people for their assistance to Viet Nam over the years, especially in poverty reduction, education-training, rural development, energy, and electricity.

The Irish community in Viet Nam has made many contributions to the host’s society, he said.
