Hà Nội’s Mayor Nguyễn Thế Thảo: The municipal People’s Committee will stand side-by-side with the business community, March 31, 2010
Many enterprises, both domestic and foreign, proposed that the municipal authority should lift blockades in procedures of licensing investment projects; administrative reform; training human resource; developing auxiliary industries; and improving investment environment.

Hà Nội’s Mayor Nguyễn Thế Thảo emphasized that simplifying procedures is very necessary. However, the process must minimize loopholes and inequality, he added.

Leaders of Hà Nội pledged to prioritize administrative procedures reform in order to create best conditions for the business community.

It is reported that in the first quarter, the capital city’s GDP grew by 8.7% compared to the same period of 2009, in which agro-forestry-fisheries increased 21.6%, construction 9.2%, and services 6.9%.

Hà Nội targets to promote its economic growth and restructuring while soundly dealing with environmental issues in 2010.

Leaders of the city urged enterprises to actively restructure investment, adopt advanced technologies and production methods, focus capital into essential activities, secure both export and domestic markets and minimize costs to reduce products’ prices.
