PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the suggestion to the province’s key leaders during a meeting to review the locality’s socio-economic performance.

He praised Ha Nam’s efforts in realizing socio-economic targets in the current difficult situation, saying that the province should further resolve on building new-style rural areas in combination with shifting the agricultural structure, building large-scale fields and developing processing industry.

The province also should focus on removing obstacles to facilitate businesses, speeding up infrastructure development in its industrial zones and improving the quality of planning and implementing work, PM Dung added.

The local leaders need to take effective measures to ensure social welfare, create jobs, raise workers’ income and improve the living standards for local people.

According to the province’s report, its economy expanded 10.1% in the first half of this year while export value increased 50.1% and industrial production saw a 17.54% growth.
