HN to welcome 3 million foreign tourists

VGP – In the first seven months of 2017, the Capital City welcomed over 14 million tourists, representing a year-on-year surge of 9%, including 2.7 million of foreign visitors, up 19% against the same period last year.

According to the Tourism Departnment, of 2.78 million foreign visitors, 1.99 million stayed in the city, up 17% against the same period last year.

Room occupancy rate accounted for 58.14%, of which the rate of five-star hotels was 78.52%; four-star hotels with 60.19%; and three-star hotels with 46.37%.  

In the rest of the year, the Department will submit a project on manpower training in favor of traditional village preservation at Bat Trang ceramic village, Van Phuc silk village.

Meanwhile, the Department will apply IT in State management on tourism; advertize tourism activities; work with the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to deploy free wi-fi service at tourism sites; develop third-grade public services on tourism administrative procedures; and grant new domestic and foreign tour guide certificates.

In addition, the Department will conduct tourism promotion programs and join international tourism fairs; strengthen connectivity to develop new tourism products./.
