HCMC leaders pay tribute to war martyrs

VGP - A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Committee, People’s Council and Viet Nam Fatherland Front paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the city’s War Martyrs Cemetery on April 26 on the occasion of the 44rd anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification and the 133nd May Day.

The delegation also offered incense and flowers to late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Ton Duc Thang Museum and the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park.

Participants spent a minute’s silence to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed for the national independence and freedom.

The same day,  at the Ben Duoc temple, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tran Luu Quang, representatives from departments, sectors and districts, and people from all walks of life offered incense and flowers to heroic Vietnamese mothers and war martyrs who laid down their lives during the resistant wars against France and U.S. in the past.

Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le also led a delegation to pay tribute to fallen soldiers at the martyrs’ cemetery in District 9. They held a minute silence for the fallen soldiers.
