HCMC announces key products

VGP – The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has recently convened a meeting to announce key industrial and agricultural products for the 2018-2020 period.

Specifically, the city will develop key industrial products including prefabricated metal, electric equipment, plastic and rubber products, food and beverage products, electronic and IT products, garments and textiles. Key agricultural products include crops (vegetables, flowers, plants), livestock products (dairy cows, pigs), aquatic products (brackish water shrimps), and potential products (ornamental fish).

These products are highly competitive with high production competence and abundant potentials for domestic and export markets, contributing to boosting domestic products and economic growth. They also meet general requirements for high added value, labor productivity, quality management, modern technology, environmentally-friendly technology. 

Director of the HCMC Industry and Trade Department Pham Thanh Kien reported that the Department will focus on five groups of solutions namely site, capital, science-technology, human resources training, trade promotion, and brand name development. 

He hoped that the key products would flourish in line with regional peers and help the city deeply integrate into the global supply chain./.
