HCM City strives for GRDP growth of 8.3-8.5% in 2018

VGP – Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee on January 2 organized a meeting on socio-economic development performance and budget forecast for 2018.

Accordingly, the city strives to reach a GRDP growth of 8.3%-8.5% in 2018, higher than the figure of 8.25% in 2017. 

The city will launch measures to ensure a favorable investment environment, encourage innovation, develop infrastructure, reduce traffic jams and accidents, protect environment, actively respond to climate change and guarantee social security and welfare and people’s lives. 

The city will give priority to land use for the fourth industrial revolution, auxiliary industry, financial center and start-up. 

Projects in constructing and upgrading highlands and transport connection systems, urban railway, subway and roads linking to Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Cat Lai Harbor will be realized. 

The city will enhance administrative procedure reform in line with information and technology application, heading to establish e-governance serving the development of a smart city.
