HCM City leader receives U.S. congressman

VGP - Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan received Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific under the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee Ted Yoho in Ho Chi Minh City on October 18.

Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan  receives Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific under the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee Ted Yoho, Ho Chi Minh City, October 18.

At the reception, Mr. Ted Yoho said many U.S. firms are interested in the local market and hoped the authorities would create favourable conditions for them  to study and invest in the market.

The U.S. congressman said the U.S. is willing to assist Ho Chi Minh City in urban development, especially smart city building.

Expressing delight at the development of bilateral relations and of the city’s economy, Yoho commended the effective collaboration between Ho Chi Minh City and U.S. localities in trade, education, and infrastructure.

In turn, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan lauded progress made in Viet Nam-U.S. relations, saying more and more U.S. investment projects in trade, education and technology are arriving in Viet Nam. 

Ho Chi Minh City aims to proactively promote trade-investment ties with the U.S., the official added, hoping that Yoho will continue to support his country’s ties with Viet Nam and Ho Chi Minh City.
