Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung recives Vice Mayor of the Greek city of Edessa Anastasios Diou, Ha Noi, April 12, 2018

At the reception, Mr. Diou said this is the first time a delegation of high-ranking officials from Edessa city has visited and had a working session with a city of Viet Nam. The visit aims  to explore local culture and history, and boost cooperation in tourism between localities, especially with Hanoi and central Nghe An province.

The Vice Mayor expressed his belief that after the working visit to Ha Noi, the relations between the two cities will see new progress.

Leaders of Edessa city will actively urge Greek businesses to pour investments into Ha Noi as well as other Vietnamese cities and provinces, he affirmed.

In turn, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung said the capital city of  Ha Noi wants to increase exchanges and cooperation with cities and provinces of countries around the world, including Edessa city.

Mr. Hung said a lot of Greek businesses have invested in different fields in Viet Nam, including tourism. In 2017 alone, Ha Noi welcomed about 3,000 Greek visitors, he said.

With a population of nearly 10 million and area of over 3,000 square kilometers, Ha Noi is potential market for both domestic and foreign enterprises, he said, adding that Ha Noi is looking forward to greeting a delegation of Greek businesses to invest in the city.

Mr. Hung hoped that the exchanges and connectivity between Ha Noi and Edessa will contribute to lifting the Viet Nam-Greece friendship to a new height.
