Gov’t-to-localities teleconference to open tomorrow

VGP – A teleconference between the Government and localities is scheduled to take place on December 30-31 under the chair of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

During the event, the participants are expected to debate socio-economic performance in 2019,  implementation of Resolution No. 02 and Resolution No. 02, draft resolution on major tasks and solutions guiding the realization of 2020 socio-economic development and budget plan, and draft resolution on major tasks and solutions to improve business environment and national competitiveness in 2020 among others.

Just days ago, official data released by the General Statistics Office (GSO) showed that the economy continues positive performance in 2019 with relatively high growth rate of 7.02%, beyond the target set by the National Assembly, making it the second consecutive year the economy expands above 7%.

The consumer price index fells to three-year low with growth rate of 2.79% compared to 3.54% and 3.53% in 2018 and 2017, respectively, according to the GSO.

Meanwhile, inbound tourism continued upward trajectory, breaking new record high of 18 million in 2019 compared to 15 million of the previous year, the Office reported.

Fueled by strong export growth, trade surplus increased to unprecedented figure of US$10 billion amid sluggish trade flows around the world./.
