Gov't welcomes unprecedented recommendations: PM

VGP – As the reality sees unprecedented transformations, the Government is also willing to receive new unprecedented recommendations, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the 30th Diplomatic Conference in Ha Noi on August 15.

Addressing a plenary session, themed “Promoting diplomacy in service of development in the period of extensive international integration”, the PM extended his greetings to the diplomats, who have strived to connect Viet Nam and friends worldwide, while underscoring the significant contributions of foreign affairs to the country’s achievements so far.

The resources from inside and outside the country have contributed to shifting economic structures and constantly brought about high growth rates, he said, stating that Viet Nam is the only ASEAN nation to foster strategic partnership and comprehensive partnership with the five permanent member of the UN Security Council, the entire Group of Seven (G7), and 13 of the Group of 20 (G20) countries.

The leader noted that the diplomatic sector has taken drastic action, thus contributing to expanding the markets and taking advantage of resources in service of the country’s development demand.

Businesses and localities have become the center in the diplomatic sector’s efforts to promote external economic relations, which goes in line with the spirit of a facilitating Government, he said.

Amid the fast movement of the world economy with many unpredictable uncertainties, PM Phuc urged external relations services to be proactive, creative and effective, while contributing to maintaining an environment of peace, stability and development.

The diplomatic sector was asked to take advantage of opportunities, issue timely response to fluctuations, and perform well the strategic forecast work as well as the advisory work for the Government, ministries and sectors.
