Hue said the projects will help strengthen trade and investment ties between Viet Nam and the US, in which energy cooperation is one of the key sectors.

Viet Nam expects to welcome more American investors with high-tech and environmentally-friendly projects, he emphasized.

Kicker said his company has worked with the Southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau to map out an investment plan for construction of a LNG complex and a LNG storehouse in the locality.

The first phase of the project is expected to become operational by 2023, the second by 2026 and the last by 2030. The complex’s combined gasification capacity is aimed at 9 million tons per annum, with total LNG reserve capacity of 800,000 cu.m, and total power generation capacity of 6,000 MW.

Gen X Energy also planned to invest in a gas-power plant in Viet Nam, said CEO Kicker./.
