Under Decision 420/QĐ-TTg which was issued by the Government chief on March 31, the State budget-financed survey will last for 30 days from June 1 to 30.

The survey targets to assess the application, quality, and infrastructure of telecoms services in Việt Nam.

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) was entrusted to serve as the major implementer to conduct the survey, collect and analyze data, make reports to the PM, and publicize the results.

The Government chief required leaders of provincial-level People’s Committees to actively join hands with the MIC in ensuring a successful survey.

All concerned telcos, Internet enterprises, radio and television stations at all levels are responsible for reporting their timely and accurate data.

It is reported that by March end, the number of telephone subscribers in Việt Nam reached 137.6 million, up 57.7% against the previous year.

At the end of Q1, the figure of Internet users stood at 23.3 million of which nearly 3.1 million had access to broadband Internet services.
