Gov’t sets seven socio-economic development tasks

VGP – Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh presented a report on seven tasks and solutions on socio-economic development by late 2019 on May 20.

The report was presented at the seventh working session of the 14th National Assembly that opened the same day.

Consolidating macro-economic foundation

Specifically, the Government tasked all sectors and agencies to consolidate the macro-foundation; ensure big balances of the economy; and spur growth. 

The Government will focus on raising the forecast and analyzing quality; consolidating statistical, information, and report system on domestic and international circumstances in favor of management; conducting the monetary policy in a flexible and active manner; harmonizing fiscal policies with other macro-economic policies; and ensuring credit growth.   

The Government will continue to tighten financial and State budget disciplines; management of State budget spending and collection; provide tax incentives for SMEs; prevent tax loss and invasion; and promote the use of e-invoices.

Transforming growth modal 

The Government will take drastic steps to restructure the economy; transform the growth modal; better labor productivity and competitiveness. 

Accordingly, the Government will continue to review and perfect mechanisms and policies to restructure the economy especially in finance, credit, trade, investment, planning, utilize resources on land, natural resources, and labor. Sectors and agencies are responsible for making specific plans and solutions to speed up scientific applications and modern technologies, regarding this as a key for transforming the growth modal; raising productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness in response to the fourth Industrial Revolution; and narrowing down the development gap. 

Credit organizations will be restructured and non-performing loans will be resolved. The Government will speed up non-cash payment; high-tech applications; develop credit and banking services. 

Preventing cheating in exams

In the rest of the year, the Government will develop culture and improve  material and spiritual life.

The Government will continue to reform the education system; organize the high school exam; prevent cheating.

In addition, the Government will reform mechanisms and policies to develop scientific applications. 

Deputy PM Binh noticed the importance of effectively implementing disease prevention; raising medical treatment service quality; tightening natural resource management; preventing natural disasters; and responding to climate change. 

Ensuring power control mechanism

According to Deputy PM Binh, the administrative reform will be sped up. Accusations and complaints will be resolved. The fight against corruption and wastefulness will be accelerated. Administrative disciplines will be tightened. 

Cracking down on social evils

The Government will consolidate national defense and security; better diplomatic operation; and international integration. 

Synchronous measures on criminal prevention will be conducted. The Government will take drastic steps to crack down on drug crime and serious criminal cases; organized crimes; ensure transport safety./.
