Gov’t requires equitization on schedule

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has called for more drastic efforts to resolutely complete the equitization of a total of 432 State-owned enterprises in the 2014-2015 period.

The Government chief reaffirmed that this is a major political task.

Accordingly, ministries, localities, State economic corporations and groups must speed up the progress of equitization and divestment of non-core businesses in accordance with the approved plans, including the Master plan on economic restructuring.

Provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Binh Duong, Binh Phuong, Thanh Hoa, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ngai, Phu Tho and Ben Tre have to immediately set up provincial-level committees to direct the equitization process.

The localities must also make public the values of to-be-equitized enterprises and approve equitization plans by the 3rd quarter next year.

Meanwhile, An Giang, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Ha Noi, Lang Son, Lam Dong, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Long An, Quang Ninh, Tien Giang, Thai Binh, and Thai Nguyen must publicize the values of to-be-equitized enterprises and approve equitization plans by the first quarter of 2015.

The Government chief also tasked inferior levels to continue reviewing and naming more enterprises which will be equitized or must divest capital from non-core businesses based on the norms enshrined in the PM’s Decision 37/2014/QD-TTg dated on June 18, 2014.

According to the Steering Committee for Enterprise Reform and Development, PM Dung, under his direct authority, ratified equitization plans for 20 corporations and groups by the end of July.

76 other enterprises have been re-arranged, of which, 55 enterprises completed equitization, two were dissolved, and 15 were merged.

In the first seven months this year, divested capital was estimated at VND2,975, relatively slow compared to requirements./.
