Gov’t prepares for Lunar New Year festival

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc issued Directive 34/CT-TTg on measures to welcome the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival in a joyful, healthy, safe, and saving manner.

Under the directive, PM Phuc tasked his inferiors to make good preparation for people to welcome the Year of the Pig in a joyful, healthy, safe, and saving manner. 

Ministers, ministerial-level leaders, and local leaders were asked to take synchronous measures to successfully implement preset goals. 

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) was asked to work with other ministries and localities to keep a close watch on the market; supply and demand for goods especially essential ones; and prevent good scarcity.  

The MoIT was directed to properly manage distribution system and ensure goods circulation from producers to customers. 

The Ministry of Finance was directed to work with ministries, agencies, and localities to keep a close watch on market fluctuations; prevent smuggling and trade frauds; poor-quality products; and tighten state budget spending; put aside food relief in favor of social security. 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was urged to prevent natural diseases; protect the environment; and develop supply of food and vegetable before and after Tet. 

The Ministry of Health was assigned to work with other ministries, agencies, and localities to ensure medical quality as well as healthcare service costs.

The Ministry of Transport was asked to manage transport demands; reduce traffic accidents and congestions. 

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Society was asked to take care of people with merits, poor people, ethnic minority groups./.
