The Government chief made the above statement at his meeting with Mr. Philippe Donnet, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Assicurazioni Generali Group – one of the biggest insurance company in Italy, in Ha Noi on Friday.

The meet was also attended by Italian Ambassador to Viet Nam Cecilia Piccioni.

PM Phuc said life insurance market is still modest compared to the Southeast Asian country’s population of nearly 100 million people, thus he called on the Italian insurance group to seek ways to increase life insurance coverage in the country.

As a country with political stability and extensive international integration, Viet Nam is a good destination for foreign investment, including life insurance, stressed PM Phuc.

Viet Nam has always fully implemented its commitments to the World Trade Organization, he added.

PM Phuc also took the occasion to ask the Government of Italy to approve the Viet Nam-EU free trade agreement (EVFTA).

CEO Donnet said he was impressed by Viet Nam’s growth over the past time, which has created favorable condition for advancement of the life insurance in the country.

Meanwhile Ambassador Piccioni vowed  to do her utmost to promote the signing of the EVFTA and support Italian businesses to invest in Viet Nam./.
