Gov’t issues monthly resolution

VGP – The Government has recently released the resolution for its monthly meeting for October, focusing on flexible and cautious monetary policies and preparations for the Lunar New Year festival.

The PM tasked ministers, ministerial-level leaders, local leaders to strive for the preset goals in the rest two months of 2018.

Flexible and cautious monetary policies

The Government requested that the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, other ministries, and localities keep a close watch on the monetary and financial markets; work closely to regulate monetary, credit, financial, trade and investment policies in order to stabilize the macro-economy and control inflation. 

The SBV continues to regulate the monetary policies in a flexible and cautious manner; maintain liquidity at a reasonable level; strictly control credit, real estate. 

The MoIT was asked to work with relevant ministries and agencies to draft a resolution on key tasks and measures on socio-economic development and State budget estimate for 2019; build economic growth scenarios for 2019; make assessment on the implementation of the Strategy on service sector development by 2020 and build other strategy for the 2021-2030 period with a vision towards 2050. 

Ministries, agencies, and localities were asked to remove obstacles in institutions, the investment and business environment, facilitate production and business operation; speed up disbursement process of public investment projects. 

The MoF was assigned to tighten financial and budget disciplines; strictly control budget collection and spending; public debts, work with relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to combat smuggling, trade frauds, counterfeits especially in the year end and the Lunar New Year Festival. 

Speeding up key projects

The Ministry of Transport was urged to review and adjust planning for the North-South Highway and early implement key projects. 

The Ministry of Transport was assigned to work with the Ministry of Public Security to management transport activities and serve for sharply rising travel demands at the year end. 

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was asked to conduct proper weather forecasts and prevent natural disasters. 

Ensuring social order and security 

The Government requested that the Ministry of Public Security launch campaigns to combat crimes to ensure social security and order during the Lunar New Year Festival./.
