Gov’t issues monthly regular resolution for January
VGP – The Government requested that ministries, agencies, and localities observe the motto “Discipline, integrity, action, creation, making breakthroughs, and effectiveness”; continue to renovate management mechanisms after Tet holidays; and strive to fulfill socio-economic development goals in 2019.
These tasks are stipulated in the Government’s regular resolution for January.
Accordingly, the socio-economic performance in January was positive. The macro-economy was stable. Inflation rate was put under control. Export turnover hit US$ 20 billion. State budget investment grew 17%. FDI attraction valued US$ 1.9 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of US$ 1.9 billion. The number of international guests fetched 1.5 million, up 5%.
However, at the beginning, problems emerged including trade deficit, transport, and serious traffic accidents.
The Government requested that ministries, agencies, and localities observed the motto “Discipline, integrity, action, creation, making breakthroughs, and effectiveness” and strive for the preset goals on socio-economic development and State budget estimate in 2019.
Specifically, the State Bank of Viet Nam is responsible for managing the monetary policy, exchange rates, interest rates; control credit growth.
The Ministry of Finance is in charge of supervising finance and state budget disciplines.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will promote sectorial restructuring; accelerate key projects; and boost productions.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment was assigned to work with the Office of the Government to report to the PM the State budget allocation in 2019 for projects to have their ground to be broken.
The Government also tasked ministries, agencies, and localities to prepare necessary conditions for people to welcome the Lunar New Year festival./.
