Gov’t gives investment priorities to high-tech lists

VGP – The Government chief recently approved a list of high-tech fields prioritized for investment and a list of high-tech products encouraged for development.

The list of 46 prioritized high-tech fields covers the technology to design and produce central processing units (CPU), integrated circuits (IC or microchip) and computer data storages; technology to produce operating systems for computers and mobile devices; Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and Digital Satellite Television (DST) technologies; technologies applicable for diagnosis, assessment and treatment;  microorganism technology in pollution treatment; nanotechnology; and technology to build huge oceangoing vessels.

The list of encouraged high-tech products comprises 76 products including battery for information and communication devices; high-resolution monitors; software for network security and information secrecy; recombinant proteins and enzymes used in pharmacy, industrial food and environment treatment; recombinant DNA and protein vaccines for human beings, livestock, poultry and aquatic products; and new, high-quality and high-yield plant varieties and animal breeds for industrial-scale production.  

The Government chief also requested the Ministry of Science and Technology, relevant ministries, agencies, and local authorities propose appropriate revisions and supplements for the lists in parallel with socio-economic performance in each period of time./.
