Gov’t ensures long-term development for foreign investors

VGP – The FDI sector is an important component of the Vietnamese economy. The sector is encouraged and given preferential incentives for long-term, fair, cooperative development, said Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue.

Deputy PM Hue made the point on November 25 at the opening ceremony of the Horasis Asia forum (Horasis 2019) on November 25 in Binh Duong city. 

This is the second time Binh Duong has hosted the event which draws the attendance of about 1,500 domestic and foreign delegates from 60 countries and territories. 

Deputy PM Hue affirmed that the Government pledges to create favorable ways for enterprises to do successful business here.

The Government has spared no effort to build and perfect regulations on foreign investment in accordance with international advance standards in harmony with international commitments. 

According to Mr. Hue, Viet Nam prioritizes projects with modern, new, clean technologies with high added values and global supply connection. 

The Government has diversified different types of investments; protected the environment; ensure national defense, security, social order; and raise self-reliance of the economy. 

The Government pledges to transform the growth modal towards sustainability and coverage; innovation, improved investment and business environment, higher productivity, national quality and competitiveness. 

In addition, Viet Nam is crafting a socio-economic development strategy in the 2021-2030 with a vision towards 2045 in order to escape from the medium-income trap and become a high-income country. 

The annual Horasis Asia Meeting is Asia’s premier gathering of the region’s most senior leaders from business and government.

The meeting is poised to be the ideal platform to explore and advance regional cooperation, impact investing and sustainable growth. 

The location of the meeting rotates annually and the event was recently held in Bangkok, Thailand (2016), Kolkata, India (2017) and Binh Duong New City, Viet Nam (2018). 

Horasis aims to present a systemic view of activities affecting the drivers of Asia’s economic success and how Asian businesses interact regionally as well as globally./.
