PM Phuc welcomed the foreign investors and briefed them about Viet Nam’s vast potentials in tourism development which is also a spearhead economy.

However, according to the host leader, the tourism sector fails to meet potentials and remains modest in comparison with regional peers.

PM Phuc expressed an aspiration to listen to comments of foreign investors about the issue.

A large number of investors appreciated Viet Nam’s tourism development potential and suggested that the country expand those eligible for visa exemption, boost innovation, and raising public awareness of providing tourism services.

Foreign investors proposed Viet Nam take advantage of advertizing tourism via large-scale events such as the F1 Grand Fix in 2020 and movies like Kong: Skull Island in Viet Nam.

Agreeing with the guests, the PM mentioned a number of measures to boost Viet Nam’s tourism such as the continued implementation of an open visa policy and improvement of aviation infrastructure.

The host leader also stressed the necessity to increase tourism promotion, train tourism human resources, and develop accommodation and entertainment facilities.

He welcomed the outcomes of the Viet Nam Tourism Forum 2018 on the same day, where five trade agreements worth nearly US$2 billion were signed between Vietnamese firms and international partners./.
