Gov’t chief receives ougoing Indian Ambassador

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for outgoing Indian Ambassador to Viet Nam Parvathaneni Harish during which he praised the diplomat for boosting local cooperation between the two countries.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated the Ambassador for his successful mission in Viet Nam on June 17 in Ha Noi and praised his contributions to the fine bilateral ties in which senior leaders conducted regular exchanges of delegations. 

PM Phuc took the occasion to convey the congratulations to Mr. Narendra Modi who was reelected as PM. 

In reply, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish expressed his gratitude to Vietnamese ministries and agencies for creating favorable ways for him to accomplishing the term in Viet Nam and contributing to the bilateral ties. The guest leader showed his pleasure to witness the two-way trade turnover which doubled from US$ 5 billion in 2016 to US$ 10 billion in 2018. Mr.  Parvathaneni Harish hoped that the two countries would spur trade linkages and accelerate agricultural consumption especially fruits. In addition, he suggested the two countries cooperate in national defense. 

The guest leader revealed that India had supported Viet Nam’s bid to run for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council in the 2020-2021 period. 

PM Phuc acknowledged the comments and proposed the two countries spur trade cooperation. He also recommended the Indian side facilitate Vietnamese fruit exports in India. The Vietnamese Government affirmed PM Phuc commits to create favorable ways for foreign investors including Indian ones. 

On the basis of good cooperation in national defense, PM Phuc proposed the two countries boost cooperation in the coming time.

He also hailed the Ambassador for visiting 26 Vietnamese provinces and cities in a bid to seeking cooperative opportunities and spurring cultural exchanges. 

The host leader also hoped that the outgoing Ambassador would continue to nurture the bilateral ties in the future./.
