PM Phuc underlined that the bilateral ties between Viet Nam and the U.S. have flourished in all fields especially in trade and investment, saying Viet Nam has pursued the policy of trade balance with the U.S.

He spoke highly of the DFC’s efforts and described its plan to boost cooperation with Viet Nam not only in investment as a good direction now.

Viet Nam is ready to closely cooperate with the DFC in building an investment program in Viet Nam and in other Mekong countries, the leader said.

He also expressed his hope that the DFC will discuss with Viet Nam’s authorities on prioritized areas, especially energy and liquefied natural gas, and support U.S. firms in investing in Viet Nam, particularly the Mekong delta.

The Mekong region will develop well, he said, pledging to increase investment into Viet Nam, especially in the fields of energy, health care and infrastructure.

As Viet Nam is shouldering the role of the ASEAN Chair this year, the DFC hopes to invest in the development of infrastructure in the Mekong countries, the official said, pledging to help make the US a top investor in Viet Nam./.
