The Government pledges to continue stabilizing macro-economy, creating substantial advancement in the implementation of strategic breakthroughs, restructuring the economy, and encouraging innovations and entrepreneurial spirit.

Key goals for 2018 include GDP growth of 6.5-6.7%, export value increasing by 7-8%, poverty reducing by 1-1.3%, and urban unemployment rate below 4%.

The Government chief also asked for further drastic efforts in administrative reform and improving the effectiveness of law enforcement across all levels and sectors.

The Government will step up efforts in fighting corruption and waste, coping with climate change, and enhancing the effectiveness of international integration process.

PM Phuc tasked each Cabinet member to figure out specific measures to concretize the above priorities.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment was tasked to develop a resolution guiding the implementation of the 2018 socioeconomic development plan (resolution 01) which will be brought to discussions at the Cabinet December meeting (often joined by local level leaders).

The resolution should be short and clear in which priority missions must be clarified, PM Phuc ordered.

He also asked the Ministry of Transport to submit to the Government a report on BOT infrastructure projects, especially at the Cai Lay BOT toll station in the Southern province of Tien Giang.

The Government chief made the above request after some drivers have caused congestions at toll stations of some BOT roads by using small notes to pay toll fees as part of protest at excessive fees./.
