Gov’t chief greets Lao FM

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Lao FM Saleumxay Kommasith who is leading a delegation to take part in the annual consultation between the two Foreign Ministries of Laos and Viet Nam on December 6 in Ha Noi.

PM Phuc welcomed the Lao FM and the delegation to Viet Nam and hailed  the successful consultation with Vietnamese Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh.

According to the host leader, the Foreign Ministries play a significant role in the bilateral ties. He also praised the two ministries for the successful Viet Nam – Laos special friendship year in 2017. The year is of great significance in the bilateral ties as Viet Nam and Laos marked the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.  

In return, FM Saleumxay Kommasith congratulated Vietnam on the successful hosting of the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang.

The Lao FM briefed PM Phuc on the outcomes of his working visit to Viet Nam, saying that the two ministries have jointly reviewed the agreements signed between leaders of the two Parties, States, ministries, sectors and localities.

The guest leader noted that the two sides acknowledged existing problems in bilateral cooperation and agreed on solutions to them./.
